Donald G. Worden, a
genuine pioneer in the world of Technical Analysis, originally began
publishing investment newsletters in the early 1960’s. The very
popular Worden Tape Reading Studies was a broadly circulated
Market letter focusing on Don Worden’s original concept of the
systematic tallying of large block transactions. Don is best known for
developing the technical indicator, Tick Volume, which was
devised for the purpose of detecting systematic accumulation or
distribution within an individual stock. The indicator became widely
followed on Wall Street, especially by the institutional community,
and has since resurfaced under such names as "MoneyFlow."
Don Worden published numerous investment advisory letters throughout
the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. These included The Drew Odd Lot
Studies (after the retirement of Garfield Drew), The
Projectioneer, Worden’s Tick Volume Chart Folio, plus one
of the very first services to cover listed equity options, The
Optioneer.
In 1988, two of Don’s sons, Christopher and
Peter Worden co-founded
Worden Brothers, Incorporated—the producers of TeleChart 2000®
and TCNet™. Christopher is currently President of the Company.
Their youngest brother, Jon, joined Worden Brothers, Inc. in 1990. He
now oversees the Accounting and Finance Department.
TeleChart 2000, better known as TC2000,
is a Windows-based technical analysis software and data package. The
latest version of TC2000 is the result of years of painstaking
development. While a large part of this development has been driven by
customer feedback and a constant focus on ease-of-use, many of the
software’s original features were born out of the brothers’ genuine
need for a useful trading tool.
Three of Don Worden’s original creations, Time Segmented Volume®
(TSV®), Balance of Power™ (BOP®) and
MoneyStream®, are all an integral part of the software’s library of
technical indicators. These proprietary indicators are exclusive to
both TC2000 and TCNet and cannot be found in any other software
packages at any price.
Ongoing customer education has always been a top priority at Worden
Brothers, Inc. Every market day, Peter and Don Worden deliver notes
and commentary on individual stocks and the market as a whole. Don
Worden’s end-of-day reports and Peter Worden’s videos, covering topics
such as “indicator interpretation,” are a means by which chart
analysis lessons can be delivered directly to the customers. All the
Worden Brothers educational products and services have the goal of
shaping TeleChart users into more confident, disciplined investors and
traders.
Worden Brothers believes its newest product, TCNet (released in the
spring of 2002) is the "ultimate stock market information network."
The software combines cutting edge news, information services, expert
commentary, communication tools and Worden Brothers’ exclusive
AccuTick™ streaming real time data with a platform of classic
charting and technical analysis capabilities to create a one-stop
research vehicle for today’s investor.
